The driver controls the audio unless he clearly appoints a passenger as music officer.
WHAT THIS MEANS
The man managing traffic, fuel, and everyone's continued existence gets veto power over the soundtrack.
WHEN IT DOES NOT APPLY
- The driver hands over the controls
- Navigation or an urgent announcement must be heard
- The group agreed on a shared playlist before departure
EXAMPLES
- VIOLATION: You disconnect the driver's phone mid-song and begin a fourteen-track experimental phase.
- NO VIOLATION: The driver gives you the aux cord and asks for road-trip classics.
