The Host Controls the Remote
THE RULE
At a watch party, the host controls the main television and gives his team's game reasonable priority.
WHAT THIS MEANS
He supplied the screen and accepts the risk of spilled dip. Fantasy points do not outrank property rights.
WHEN IT DOES NOT APPLY
- The host hands control to the group
- An emergency alert or major breaking event interrupts
- The host's game is finished and a clearly bigger matchup begins
EXAMPLES
- VIOLATION: A guest changes the main TV to his fantasy player's meaningless fourth quarter without asking.
- NO VIOLATION: The host moves a secondary game to another screen and keeps the room informed.
