Wingman Duty Is Sacred

THE RULE

A man who accepts wingman duty must support the introduction, manage distractions, and avoid becoming the main event.

WHAT THIS MEANS

The wingman is air traffic control, not a second airplane racing for the runway.

WHEN IT DOES NOT APPLY

1. The interaction becomes disrespectful or unsafe
2. The friend behaves badly enough to lose support
3. The person clearly shows no interest and should be left alone

EXAMPLES

• VIOLATION: You agree to help, then spend the evening pitching yourself to the person your friend approached.
• NO VIOLATION: You make the introduction, keep the other friends occupied, and disappear at the correct moment.
