The Game-Night Tribute
THE RULE
A guest attending game night brings a useful contribution: drinks, ice, chips, wings, or another item the host requests.
WHAT THIS MEANS
The host donated the couch, television, cleanup, and Wi-Fi. Arriving with only opinions is not a contribution.
WHEN IT DOES NOT APPLY
- The host specifically says nothing is needed
- The gathering is at a paid venue
- A last-minute invitation leaves no reasonable stop on the way
EXAMPLES
- VIOLATION: You arrive for the playoff game empty-handed and immediately ask what food is ready.
- NO VIOLATION: You text the host, learn that ice is low, and enter carrying two bags like a professional.
