The Beer Fruit Ban

OFFICIAL MAN LAWMINOR

The Beer Fruit Ban

THE RULE

Do not add loose fruit to an ordinary beer that was not designed or traditionally served with it.

WHAT THIS MEANS

Beer is allowed ingredients, not arts and crafts. If the brewer wanted a salad floating in it, the label would say so.

WHEN IT DOES NOT APPLY

  1. The beer style is traditionally served with citrus
  2. The drink was ordered as a fruit beer, shandy, or beer cocktail
  3. A recipe specifically calls for the garnish

EXAMPLES

  • VIOLATION: You drop strawberries into a standard lager because the glass looked lonely.
  • NO VIOLATION: The bartender serves a wheat beer with its customary orange slice.
