FACTS CONSIDERED
A friend assumed control of another person's active grill without permission, invitation, a request for temporary relief, or an immediate safety concern.
RULING
The Court finds a VIOLATION. Primary grill authority remained with the person operating the grill because it was never voluntarily and unmistakably transferred. The friend’s unilateral assumption of command was therefore void from the moment of attempted spatula succession.
REMEDY
The friend shall immediately restore grill authority, provide a concise acknowledgment of the improper takeover, and serve one full cookout in the subordinate role of beverage and plate coordinator unless authority is expressly transferred.
